To become a licensed Paramedic in Georgia, individuals must complete a state-approved Paramedic program and pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) cognitive exam. The licensing body is the Georgia Department of Public Health, Office of EMS and Trauma. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, undergo a fingerprint-based criminal background check, and hold current CPR and ACLS certifications. Georgia does not offer reciprocity; however, out-of-state applicants with current NREMT registration can apply.
