To become a licensed cosmetologist in Wyoming, applicants must complete a 1600-hour training program from a Wyoming Board-approved cosmetology school and have at least a 10th-grade education. Candidates must pass both the NIC National Written and Practical Examinations. The initial application fee is $48, and the written and practical exams cost $88 each, paid directly to the testing company, Prov. Licenses are renewed every two years, and continuing education is not required. Wyoming also offers reciprocity for out-of-state licensees who meet specific criteria.
