route How to become a paramedic in Connecticut
To become a licensed Paramedic in Connecticut, individuals must successfully complete an OEMS-approved paramedic training program and pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic cognitive exam. As of July 1, 2024, the NREMT Paramedic exam no longer includes a psychomotor component. Additionally, applicants must complete a Mental Health First Aid training program. Connecticut offers reciprocity for paramedics licensed in other states with comparable standards, and those with four years of experience may be endorsed without NREMT certification.

Some regional EMS councils may have additional annual CE requirements. |
